Rome photoshoot & elopement photographer: your own Roman holiday

A Rome photoshoot can be more than a stop beside a famous landmark. Think of a walk through warm-coloured streets, a quiet moment together and portraits full of life. I am Ralf Czogallik of Eppel, available by arrangement for couple photoshoots, engagement sessions and elopement photography in Rome, Italy.

01 · Your story

A celebration with room to breathe

Whether you are visiting on your honeymoon, celebrating an engagement or returning to a city you love, we build the session around you. I combine natural moments with colourful, carefully composed portraits. A little direction helps you settle in; walking and conversation keep the photographs personal.

For an elopement, the story can begin before you step outside. Preparations, a first look and the emotion of your vows deserve time as well. We choose coverage around the day you are actually planning, rather than fitting your celebration into a sightseeing checklist.

Rome photoshoot location ideas

A landmark-led city walk

If the Colosseum is part of your dream, make an outdoor viewpoint the focus of one section of the session. The surrounding city provides context and scale. Interior access, tickets and permissions are separate considerations and are not promised as part of a standard photoshoot.

Trastevere for colour and connection

Choose a neighbourhood walk for a more personal rhythm: textured walls, street corners and moments in between. Trastevere can suit couples who want their images to feel like a shared afternoon in Rome. We keep the route compact and work respectfully around residents and businesses.

A skyline or riverside finish

A viewpoint or a stretch beside the Tiber can add a different feeling to your photographs. Tell me whether you prefer a recognisable panorama or smaller, quieter scenes. We select the exact stops around light, access and the time available.

03 · Your intimate wedding

Rome elopement photography

A symbolic ceremony in a private setting, followed by city portraits and dinner together, offers a lovely starting point for an intimate day. A reserved venue can provide more privacy than a public landmark. Confirm permission for photography with your venue and share any restrictions before we plan your timeline.

Rome city and a wedding venue outside Rome require different travel arrangements. If you are celebrating near the city, allow a realistic transfer rather than assuming portraits in the centre will fit between ceremony and dinner. Photography does not include marriage paperwork, celebrant services or venue reservations.

04 · A realistic timeline

Less rushing. More Rome.

Choose one priority location and a nearby second setting. Crossing Rome repeatedly can consume the time you wanted for photographs. An early start may help at busy landmarks, while later sessions can embrace the city’s lively atmosphere. No time of day guarantees empty streets.

Bring comfortable walking shoes, a small bag and clothing that allows you to move. We discuss weather alternatives and any mobility needs in advance. For a surprise proposal, contact me privately before booking so we can agree on a meeting point and a simple backup plan.

05 · Personal proposal

Your Rome photoshoot price

Pricing depends on your date, photography time and travel requirements. Your proposal confirms coverage, any travel or accommodation expenses, the image selection and delivery timeline. Elopements and short couple sessions are quoted around their different needs.

I travel to Rome for photography and coordinate availability in advance. Explore my Italy wedding photography to see more of the approach before telling me about your plans.

Your questions

Before you book

Can we book a Rome couple photoshoot without getting married?

Absolutely. A honeymoon, engagement, anniversary or holiday together is a good reason for a session. You do not need wedding outfits or posing experience.

Can the Colosseum be in our photographs?

We can plan an outdoor viewpoint, subject to access, local rules and conditions on the day. A photography booking does not include entry to the monument.

Can you photograph a surprise proposal in Rome?

Ask about your date and idea before making arrangements. We need to agree on the location, timing, meeting details and a backup so the moment stays personal.

Do you provide Rome elopement packages?

I prepare personal photography proposals for intimate celebrations. Venue hire, a celebrant and legal marriage arrangements are separate unless explicitly agreed otherwise.

How many locations should we choose?

For a relaxed city session, a priority location and a nearby second setting are a useful starting point. The final route depends on the coverage and travel time.

What happens in bad weather?

We discuss a practical alternative for your route or timing. Rescheduling is subject to availability and the terms of your booking.
