Derek & Amy’s Stunning Wedding at Hotel Marincanto, Positano

There’s something magical about photographing a wedding where the story comes full circle. Years ago, I met Derek when he joined one of my photography workshops in Cappadocia Turkey. Fast forward to 2025, and I found myself standing on a sun-drenched terrace in Positano, Italy. I was capturing one of the most beautiful days of his life as he married Amy at the breathtaking Hotel Marincanto.

A Magical Pre-Wedding Love Shoot

The day before the wedding, we had an absolutely fantastic love shoot. This set the perfect tone for the celebrations to come. Derek and Amy joined me for a private boat trip along the stunning Amalfi Coast. It was complete with prosecco and the most magical sunset you can imagine. Golden light reflected off the water. The dramatic cliffs in the background and the relaxed, romantic atmosphere created some truly unforgettable images. I’ll be sharing those beautiful photos later on this website, so stay tuned!

A Perfect Amalfi Coast Setting

June in Positano is absolutely spectacular. Derek and Amy’s wedding day was no exception. The ceremony took place on Hotel Marincanto’s stunning terrace. The golden Mediterranean sunset painted the sky in shades of orange and pink. The temperature was perfect, warm enough to feel the Italian summer magic. Yet, it was comfortable for their guests who had traveled from around the world to celebrate with them. A combination of the dramatic Amalfi Coast cliffs, the sparkling sea below, and the intimate terrace setting created an unforgettable backdrop that dreams are made of.

What made this wedding truly special wasn’t just the incredible location. It was the energy and warmth of everyone involved. Derek and Amy’s guests were an absolute joy to work with. They created a relaxed and fun atmosphere that made my job as their Amalfi Coast wedding photographer pure pleasure. The evening flowed seamlessly from the emotional ceremony into a reception filled with delicious Italian cuisine. Heartfelt speeches, and dancing that lasted well into the night followed. The Hotel Marincanto team delivered exceptional service. Every detail, from the flowers to the food, was absolutely perfect.
